About Mount Vernon
Have you ever wanted to visit the estate of the first President of the United States, George Washington? We suggest you should see Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington and his family, an estate open 365 days a year. Dr. Ross and his team love taking their families up to Mount Vernon to spend the day learning about Washington's life in the 18th century. You can tour the grounds of the estate, and see his tomb, where many lay flowers in memorandum. You and your family can see live demonstrations of blacksmithing, cooking, weaving, sheep shearing, and more just as they did it in Washington's day. There are also several exclusive tours on the property for an extra fee. Admission is $20 for adults, $19 for seniors, $10 for kids (6 – 11), and free for your kiddos under 5 (and there are children's programs as well). Learn more about all the exciting activities your family can do at Mount Vernon, and look online at http://www.mountvernon.org for discounts for booking tickets online.
